Altering Wheel Thrown Forms with Kendra - Friday, March 14th

6:30-9:00pm

Students should bring:

Miniumum:

• 2 cylinders
• 1 bowl
• 1 tall cylinder / vase form
• 2 bottomless cylinders
• (These forms should be softer than leather hard, but not fresh off the wheel)
• Extra clay to make slabs and handles
• Favourite Hand building tools (pin tool, ribs, exacto knife, wire cutter, etc.)

Pottery pieces don’t just end once we take them off the wheel. This workshop will cover how we can alter wheel thrown vessels and not be only restricted to cylindrical forms.

What will be covered:

• Taking circler shapes and making it into other shapes
• Darting forms
• Using forms for parts to make new forms

What you can expect to make, but are not limited to:

• Alterations for mugs
• Making a jar
• Making a pitcher
